Click here to find out more. UPDATE - CMS Cancels Method II Billing Changes CMS has cancelled the implementation of its method II billing changes. CMS has instructed Medicare Intermediaries/MACs to continue to pay CAHs electing method II billing at cost plus one percent for outpatient facility services and at fee scale plus twelve percent for professional component services. This is a welcomed turn of events with no further explanation provided by CMS. We now encourage all CAHs to continue to elect method II billing until such a time CMS may issue new regulations governing method II billing. Changes have been made for cost report specific dates rather than generic dates. TRICARE Proposes Cost Plus for CAHs Click here for a copy of the proposed TriCare regulation that will change CAH reimbursement to the lesser of cost plus one percent or charges. The comment period ended June 4, 2008. We encourage all CAHs to submit a comment endorsing this change. However, we would like the new regulation to eliminate the clause that limits payment to charges.
